Teach Too: Nelson and Colne College: a partnership with local employers within advanced engineering, manufacturing skills and knowledge transfer'

Summary Teach Too is about encouraging people from industry to spend time teaching their work through curriculum development, promoting the practice of teachers and trainers updating their industry experience and helping to build genuine collaborative arrangements between employer and providers. This project fostered employer engagement within advanced engineering and manufacturing curriculum areas, focusing on skills and knowledge transfer between employees and college staff. Involving engineers from a cross section of advanced manufacturing businesses in East Lancashire and staff from Nelson and Colne College, the engineers from the East Lancashire businesses were supported to become skilled assessors allowing them to fully understand and undertake workplace assessments of apprentices
